Britfeld Yesterdays Dream

"Kye"

Kye wins his first major show at 10 months old !!!

Kye's Pedigree

Britfeld Yesterdays Dream or"Kye" is our second import from Britfeld Kennels in Australia. After turning just a year old he had already done things that many Weims will never accomplish. He won a 3 point major at the Rapid City Kennel Club dog show when he was just 10 months old. The next weekend he went on to win a Group 1 as best puppy in the Sporting Dog Class at the Lawerence Kansas Kennel Club show. He then was flown out to Oregon to compete in field trials. After missing all of his Puppy trials due to showing, he ended up making the number 7 WCA field Derby dog for 2005. Kye has proven his versality by having points towards his Field Champion title and his Show Champion title and we are looking at a bright future competing with him !!!

Kye is a beautiful dog that shows a drive in the field we have seldom seen. He is currently in field trial training with Westend Kennels but we are looking foward in getting him home to finish his show title. Kye's  bloodlines are a rich mix from all over the world. He has the same father as our Brit which boasts some of the finest hunting dogs Germany, Sweden, and Australia have to offer. His grandfather is from the world famous Zehnthof Kennels in Germany. Kye's grandmother is Mimmtrix Sally who holds an astounding number of field and show titles overseas. Sally has done a superb job of outcrossing some of the best weimaraners from around the world. Many of Kye's ancestors were one of a kind dogs that excelled in many areas and Kye has followed his ancestors footsteps !!!!!!

We again want to thank Sventlana Sally Johnston of Britfeld Kennels in Australia for having faith in us to bring out the best in Kye. Sally has been a true friend and an experienced, guiding hand, in our quest to bring talented new lines to the United States. We have been very fortunate to get to know her and to be able to call her a friend. Her knowledge is priceless!!!

Kye finishes NUMBER 7 on the WCA Top 10 Derby Field Trial list !!!

Kye won his derby field points at the Wisconsin Weimaraner field trial. His first place finish was quite and accomplishment given that it was an All-Breed Field Trial. All this at the young age of 16 months. If this dog has a fault it is TOO much desire. He thinks he can do anything and maybe he can !!

UPDATE :

Kye has been gone to the west coast field training for the past year !!! After finishing number 7 on the WCA field trial list for 2005 he remained at Westend Kennels to train for his broke dog debut. This past year has been a long and tough road trying to become a finished gun dog. This is why the FC title before a dogs name is a coveted and GREAT accomplishment. Kye is close to making his mark in the United States so he too can earn the Field Champion title he so truly deserves. We are committed to giving him every chance to be one, if not the only, imported Dual Champion Weimaraners ever. With his outstanding drive and desire in the field coupled with his exceptional conformation he has all the tools he needs !!!

Deb has also tried to take some time getting Kye more points towards his Show Ch. title. It is very difficult trying to show and run field trials at the same time but Kye has managed to pick up a couple more points in his spare time.

Kye finished 2nd at the Willamette Weimaraner Club Field Trial.

At the tender age of 7 months Kye won the Weimaraner puppy match against some very tough show competition. Not stopping there he went on to win a puppy Sporting Group One and finished ahead of several other sporting group show dogs of various sporting breeds !!!

After Kye made the two day airplane trip from Australia we couldn't help but check out his pointing instincts. The above photo was taken his second day home when he was about 12 weeks old. Both Brit and Kye love the water. The German, Australian, and Swedish lines stress the multi talents of the Weimaraner and both of these dogs excel at whatever they do !!!!!!!!!
