Winsome Weims
"Home of the Versatile Weimaraner"

Winsome Weimaraners are beautiful, easy to love and full of charm. From day to day these beautiful dogs are spoiled, trained and a big part of our family. If you have ever owned a Weimaraner before you know they are very intelligent and loyal companions. We strive to breed a versatile dog that LOVES to hunt, can compete at hunt tests or field trials, but is also bred to the standard. The Weimaraners at Winsome Weims make superb companions but also have the ability to perform for you in the field. We are located in Northwest Iowa right in the heart of some of the best pheasant hunting in the country. It should be NO suprise that we believe Weimaraners should be bred with hunting instincts running through their veins. They should be a companion, friend, and want to perform in whatever you ask. That is our goal !!!! A Weimaraner should be attractive in their conformation but also be able to excel at many different tasks. Our Weims are bred to do just that.
Please browse our site and check out our dogs at work and play !!! We have gone to great lengths to expand the Weimaraner here in the United States by importing some outstanding field and show lines from all over the world. These dogs have proven to be an asset to our breed and we have confidence the future is only brighter for the Weimaraner !!!!

We are proud members of the Weimaraner Club of America and adhere to the WCA code of ethics. We believe in breeding only superior dogs with outstanding temperaments. We occasionally have puppies available. Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing a puppy that is bred to be beautiful but will also give you his heart working in the field.

"The Next Generation" Television Show !!!
2006 & 2007

When the producers of the new hunting show "The Next Generation" contacted us about coming to Iowa to film a pheasant hunt and showcase our Weimaraners we were thrilled. Out of the hundreds of hunting shows produced, VERY seldom if ever, areWeimaraners featured on camera. We thought this would be an outstanding chance to show the world what they are missing out on. This could also be a chance for some of the more traditional bird dog owners to see how far the Weimaraner has come as a hunting dog. The show is fast paced and very well done. It features six teenagers who travel the U.S. in pursuit of many different kinds of hunting and fishing experiences.
The crew of "The Next Generation" returned in November of 2007 for another fantastic hunt. This show should air sometime in the fall of 2008.

Bass Pro returns for another Iowa pheasant hunt
We wanted to focus more on the dog work this year. Brit, Sissi, Siri and Bree all shared time on camera. Four Weimaraners hunting hard and finding birds while honoring each other's point made for a fantastic hunt and show !!!! These dogs represented several different countries with Sissi and Siri imported from Sweden, Brit from Australia, and Bree who is a top U.S. bred field dog with a German father.
Brit somehow always finds a way to steal a show. She is a hunting machine that only gets better with age. Sissi, Siri and Bree were are all less than 1 1/2 years old when the show was filmed. These pups will naturally honor and back and will do everything you ask of them in the field. Chances are they will be just as good as Brit when they reach her age.
Hopefully we can do it all again in the fall of 2008. We want to thank Bass Pro Shops T.V. crews and especially Ben for a wonderful time. He is a true pro at such a young age and a joy to hunt with !!!!
